IF you have a spare school bag, consider giving it to Nadine Dennis.
She has been working with the Margaret River Senior High School, particularly Indonesian language teacher Angela McCoy, and the Margaret River Lions Club to help an orphanage in Klungkung, Bali.
The appeal follows a recent visit to Bali, where she found that half the children at Dharma Jati 1 Bali Orphanage wanted school bags.
She is after school bags that are in reasonably good condition to take back to the children aged between four and 14 years.
“I don’t think they’ll care if it’s a Spiderman one, they’ll just be glad to have a school bag,” she said.
The main reason for Ms Dennis heading to Bali is to organise for a roof to be put on the orphanage, but she thought she would also use the opportunity to bring them school bags.
Bags can be dropped of at the MRSHS student services between 8am and 4pm.
Ms Dennis will collect them at noon on Friday, November 20.
Cash donations will also be accepted.
Fundraising for the roof is underway but will take a more leading role later this year.
