THE Cowaramup Focus had its beginnings with a successful event in 2007, an initiative of the Cowaramup Retailers Association.
The association went to the Cowaramup Hall and Reserves and the Cowaramup Lions Club for assistance, and they were able to provide insurance and space.
The event aims to celebrate the community spirit of Cowaramup.
This year’s event on Saturday, November 14 will focus on a range of markets, with 22 wineries and one brewery offering tastings.
Bellyvision dancers, fresh food, antiques and silks will be part of the action, as well as an art display at the Cowaramup Club.
Children can have fun with activities including egg and spoon races, gravity suits, a mechanical chessboard, tug of war, and bouncy castle.
The wine area will offer master classes from 12pm to 5pm, including Jodie Opie presenting chardonnay tasting, Peter Stanlake cabernet sauvignon, Mark Messenger presents semillon, and a cheese tasting and cheese and wine matching session with Hayshed Hill.
Peter Mammone of Cullens Winery will present a class on the viticultural side of grapes.
From 3pm to 8pm enjoy music by the likes of Qynn, Cowtown, Jason and the Stirling Rangers, and Knobbs Brothers.
There will be plenty of parking available.
No dogs are permitted and no BYO.
Cost is $5 adults and gold coin donation for children.
