TWO intrepid Augusta women will shave their hair in March to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Jacqui Hodby and Rebecca Lonnie will lose their locks at the Augusta Hotel on Friday, March 15.

The two friends decided to join the annual World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure because Ms Hodby’s brother-in-law has leukaemia.

They hope to raise $10,000 to help the Foundation, which gives rural people like Ms Hodby’s brother-in-law free accommodation in Perth while they receive treatment.

People can bid for the privilege of shaving the women’s hair, or join in by getting their own hair coloured or shaved.

If you would like to donate money, visit www.worldsgreatestshave.com and look up ‘Jac and Bec’.

Donation tins will be kept at various Augusta businesses.

The Greatest Shave runs between March 11 and 13.

The Leukaemia Foundation in WA provides patients with information and resources, education and support programs, transportation to and from treatment, ‘home away from home’ accommodation for regional patients, practical assistance and emotional support.

In Margaret River, Silver Chain will host a public shave event, co-ordinated by Pamela McIntosh.

For more information on the Foundation and Shave, Deb Wilkins will be at the Edwards Wines Family Fun Day on Sunday, January 24.

The Edwards family are long time Foundation supporters.

There will be hair colouring, face painting and a bouncy castle, a sausage sizzle, wood fired pizza, ice cream, slushies, wine sales, and local musicians Tracey Barnett and Qynn, all for a gold coin donation with proceeds to the Leukaemia Foundation.

For more information or to sign up to participate, go to www.worldsgreatestshave.com or phone 1800 500 088.
