Coal court hearing

24 Aug, 2011 01:20 PM
LOCAL coal campaigners hope to see plenty of objectors to the Western Coal Pty Ltd exploration licence at its first mention hearing at Busselton Court on September 29.

About 60 objectors are listed, including the Augusta-Margaret River Shire, the Department of Environment and Conservation, and the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A mention hearing is an initial hearing where the Warden may give directions to the parties, set a hearing date and/or adjourn to a further mention hearing.

Brent Watson of NO COAL!ition said: “We are hoping to get as many people as possible on this list to attend.”
