Hospital Friends’ raffle

03 Feb, 2010 11:13 AM
THE Friends of the Margaret River Hospital drew the winner of their monster raffle last Friday, which raised nearly $5000 for the hospital.

Mirrambeena’s longest resident, champion bowler and Margaret River local since the age of eight years, Joan Johnston, drew the winners.

First out of the huge box of tickets was Friends treasurer Pauline Hallyburton – and no, it wasn’t rigged.

She won tickets to the Leeuwin Concert and gourmet hamper.

Other prizes included two nights at Quest Margaret River, a Chemmart voucher, a handmade Victorian style table, and a cheeseboard.

The Friends thank all the community members who supported the raffle and encourage new members to join.

They meet every second Thursday of every second month for about an hour.

Their aim is to fundraise for hospital equipment and patient amenities.

If you are interested, contact president Delia Seabrooke on 9758 7042, secretary Hilary Head on 9757 2079, or treasurer Pauline Hallyburton on 9757 2395.
