A VIVID mural honouring the firefighters of the November bushfires has gone up on the western wall of the Zone Room, sponsored by the Artzability crew.
The Artzability Firey mural faces the skate park and the new Augusta-Margaret River shire offices.
To see the mural closely, locals are encouraged to park at the Zone and walk through the western side to the grassed area.
The Augusta-Margaret River Shire donated the paint, while local graffiti artist Kyal Rowe and Artzability co-ordinator Margot Edwards worked with members, carers and artist volunteers to design the artwork, prepare the walls, and transpose and spraypaint the mural on January 22 and 23.
They thank all who helped with the project.
Artzability is looking for sponsors and donations to help fund their weekly disability arts project in 2012.
Having run for three years, Artzability has completed numerous public art commissions, completed two major theatre productions and won the People’s Choice Award at the Margaret River Region Wine Festival for their sculpture, which is now on permanent display at the Margaret River Community Resource Centre.
Without any major government sponsorship, Artzability is dependent on fundraising and community support.
