Start of another school year

08 Feb, 2012 01:59 PM
STUDENTS streamed back to school last Wednesday in Augusta-Margaret River, joining almost 400,000 children across WA.

At Margaret River Primary School, dozens of children started their education at pre-primary or year 1, with few tears, lots of smiles, and plenty of photographs taken by their parents.

MRPS principal Sinan Kerimofski said it was a “fantastic” start to the year, with a “great vibe” and an overwhelmingly positive response to the school’s new uniforms.

“Over 80 per cent of students were in uniform,” he said.

The school started off the term with more than 700 students in total, a full complement of staff, and enough space for all, he said.

Margaret River Senior High School principal Andrew Host said they had a very good start to the year, with 580 students, new uniforms, and a full complement of staff in their first year as an independent public school.
