Brigade life member Fred Morrison said, “the donations contribute significantly to equipment and gear that makes it possible for the crew to be more efficient.”
Deputy captain Ian Dowling said IGA Margaret River had a long history of supporting local organisations that make a difference to the community.
“We are always thankful for their involvement,” he said.
The Wallcliffe brigade covers an area from Margaret River townsite to the coast, from Ellensbrook south to Prevelly, Gnarabup and Boodjidup Brook.
They are undergoing membership growth, training and development of facilities, and will use the donation to improve firefighter health and safety, such as full face smoke masks, and making the brigade station independent of power failure with an emergency in-line generator.
Some experienced firefighters will also contribute to and learn from the Conference for Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council and Bushfire Co-operative Research Centre in August.
