THE Wednesday Women played the second Silverspoon for the season, sponsored by Lorna West and Val Rangnow.
The Stroke competition saw Wendy Campbell shoot 73 nett to win the Silverspoon and also pick up first prize in A Grade. Sue Bloxam was runner up in A Grade with 74 nett on a three way countback from Patsy Bedford and Kerry Farrelly. Sue also won the Gross with 83. Simone Bedford won B Grade with 75 nett with Jan James runner up with 77 on a countback from Marge Croxford 77.
Novelties went to Rhonda Hearn, Chris Combes (2), Ricky Coates, Michele Boyanich (2) Penny Foy, Val Meleri, Kerry Farrelly, Simone Bedford and Kerry Farrelly winning the putting competition with 27 putts.
Halsall and Associates sponsored Scroungers Par Plus competition. Nathan Browner had +8 to win the day with Rod Bedford runner up with +7 and Greg Stephen third with +5. Steve Owen won the Gross with -2.
Novelties went to John Agnew, John Cranfield, Dave Noske, Mike Lawson, Dave Massie, Mark Ferguson, Barry Granville and Dean Taylor.
Saturday Men’s Competition was sponsored by Stocker Preston. Visitor Ronald Grossi won the day with 40 points, runner up was Brian Zanich with 38 points on a countback from Mick O’Hara. Ron Trezise won the Gross with 31.
Novelties went to Ron Trezise, Rod Bedford, Steve Owen, Perri McGree, Brian Seed, Matt O’Connell, Brian Zanich, Gary Wightman, and Steve Britton.
Sunday’s Mothers Day Stableford competition saw Brian Zanich the winner with 39 points. Mick O’Hara was runner up with 37.
Novelties went to Anthony Jones, Bill Taplin, Vince Home, Gary Wightman, Mandy Farrell and Julie Campbell. The BBQ after the match was enjoyed by all members who stayed.
Veterans saw Alan Thwaites win this week with 21 points. Mike Marks was runner up with 20 points. Novelties went to Vince Home, Bill Taplin, and Gordon Smith.
Sunday sees a change of fixture with Ambrose 2’s sponsored by Michele and Peter Boyanich.
