AFTER 52 years in our town, the Margaret River Netball Association will see some changes this season.
The Netball Committee, which consists of both new and old members, has made alterations to the way netball is run in Margaret River to further benefit its players.
The first change to be made within the association was to have all games played during the week.
By eliminating Saturday morning netball, the committee hopes to boost player numbers and parent involvement as it will no longer clash with other sports played on Saturdays.
Also introduced this season was the initiative to have the 15/u development squad participate in Busselton’s local netball competition.
By playing in Busselton, the girls will be exposed to more competitive netball, as well as being accustomed to playing on outside courts in various weather conditions, being of benefit to the girls for when they play in regional and State netball competitions, all of which are played outdoors.
Finally, this season, netball shirts will be provided by the association for all players in all divisions instead of players purchasing their own shirts.
Additionally, black skirts will be replacing the green skirts which have previously been used.
Skirts can be purchased from the association for $15.
Registration is from 3.30 to 5.30pm on Monday, March 8, and Tuesday, March 9.
Payment will be required on the registration day.
If you are unable to attend, you can pick up a registration form and make payment at the following businesses: Down South Camping, Margaret River Mowers & Chainsaws or Wild Thyme Gourmet.
