THE Margaret River golf veterans played their second and final round of the Vets Championships on Tuesday.
Michael Marks was crowned the Vets Champion shooting 71 nett, while runner-up Mike Lawson had 72 nett.
Mike Lawson won the Gross with 90 on a countback from Rod Bishop.
Novelties went to Roy Hobson, Bill Taplin and John Beales.
Kevill’s Electrical sponsored Thursday’s Scroungers Stroke competition with Graham Sargeant winning the day, shooting 66 nett.
Runner-up was Gordon Smith with 67 and third was John Agnew with 68.
Dean Taylor won the Gross with 76 and novelties went to Rob Young, Peter Boyanich, Marc Halsall, Barry Granville, Mike O’Connor, Robin Lea, Andre Botha, Rob Dewar and Graham Farrell.
Watershed Wines sponsored the Men’s Saturday competition with Terry Halsall winning the day with 40 points on a countback from Jim House.
Blake Glover was third with 39 on a countback from Graham Farrell.
Matt O’Connell won the Gross with 29 and novelties went to Graham Bedggood, Mike Bolas, Daniel Hunt, Nic Taplin, Geoff Barrett, Peter Boyanich, Blake Glover, Brian Carter and Rod Bedford.
Sunday’s mixed competition was sponsored by the Club.
Jo Pyatt won the day with 43 points, runner-up was Blake Glover with 42 points and special mention to Mike Kelly who had 41 points.
Novelties went to Ricky Coates, Daniel Hunt, Denise Warren, Mandy Farrell, Mike Kelly and Rhonda Hearn.
Blake Glover won the Men’s Gross with 31 and Ricky Coates won the Women’s Gross.
The Wednesday Women 9 holers saw Val Meleri the winner with 18 points with Mary Taylor runner-up with 17 points.
Lorna West won the novelty.
