THE Margaret River Golf Course has never been in better condition and golfers from far and wide enjoyed it last week with competitions every day but Monday.
Tuesdays was vets day and a large field turned out for a 9-hole stableford comp which was won by Roger Last, 23, over Jim Morris, 22.
In the Wednesday women’s comp Penny Foy, 33, beat Wendy Campbell, 32, to win the 18-hole prize while Shirley Becker, 20, and Mary Taylor, also 20, were the winners of the 9-hole players.
The Scroungers men’s comp this week, sponsored by Preveli Wines, was a par-plus event and was won by Jarred Proctor. Bill Barth was second, Scar Campbell, still wearing a balaclava, came third and Todd Glover won the gross.
Saturday’s men’s was a stableford comp and won by Joseph Tribe, 41 with Terry Halsall, 40, placing second and David Bell, 38, third. Dean taylor won the gross.
Sunday’s Mixed stableford event was won by John O’Connor, 35, over Cody Laskey, 34, and Vic Solonec, 34.
On Friday the Club held an ambrose 4’s fundraiser hosting 130 participants, with proceeds going to the local volunteer fire and emergency organisations. The event was a huge success and the club would like to thank all those who donated and volunteered on the day.
