COUNCILLOR Michael Smart voted against the Karridale Hamlet Strategy Scheme and said it was one of the greatest examples of rejecting the community’s wishes he had seen; “It’s not radical people in the community who are writing these submissions. It’s mums and dads and farmers – the backbone of the Karridale community.” (AMR Mail, 21st April 2010).
Well said Councillor Smart.
You are to be applauded for actually listening to the real people you are representing.
Thank you for speaking out in support of an oppressed minority, the rural population of this shire.
Thanks also to Cr McGregor, and to everyone who sent in so many thoughtful and passionate submissions, they are an important indicator of community feeling.
