TWELVE locals will have a chance to take on the world's premier surfers in the trials event for the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro this month.
Jerome Forest, Creed McTaggart, and Tom Innes of Margaret River were recently named automatic entrants into the event, along with teen prodigy Jack Robinson.
Also scoring a go are former World Tour surfer and local legend Jake Paterson, Yallingup's Mikaela and Eliza Green, Claire Bevilacqua, Holly Robinson, Jay Davies and Cowaramup's Bronte and Laura MacAuley.
The men will compete in a group of 32 surfers battling to win one of the last four spots in the Drug Aware Pro field, while the women will compete in an all-local affair for just one spot.
In previous years, the trials have granted a ticket to the main event for local Jake Paterson, who has gone on to surf the World Tour and win Pipeline Masters.
The Trials will be held on Friday at Surfers Point, Margaret River, followed by the main event on March 16-24.
Local Jacob Willcox will enjoy a wildcard entry straight through to the main event thanks to Surfing WA.
