AUGUSTA’S main Anzac Day ceremony was very well attended, with many laying wreaths at the main memorial and the nurses’ memorial, and an RAAF flyover during proceedings.
As with the Margaret River ceremony, the unexpectedly warm weather meant some people needed medical attention.
The event included an address by Lieutenant-Commander John Wilson, a fitting duty for his last day in the Navy.
Canon David Hawkins gave the prayers, the Augusta Singers provided music, and after the ceremony some tucked into tasty hamburgers in a marquee.
