AMONG the 25 finalists in the Taste Master job for Tourism Australia's WA Best Job in the World is Lisa Farrell, a young British woman who fell in love with Margaret River after visiting local friend Libby Osborne.
"I absolutely fell in love with the wine in Margaret River, it's spoilt me for life," she said.
"Everyone who knows me believes that this job was made for me.
"I'm a food-and-wine obsessive who loves nothing more than sharing my experiences through blogs and social media.
"I've been blogging about food and wine on various blogs for over 10 years and fell head-over-heels in love with Western Australia's food and wine when I visited as part of an around-the-world foodie trip in 2011.
"I've always loved wine, but my trip to Western Australia unleashed a monster in me.
"In just two weeks I worked my way through dozens of world-class vineyards throughout Margaret River and Swan Valley, where I supped on the finest tipples of my life and learnt a lot in the process.
"The region even inspired the production of my prized possession - the wine bible that featured in my Taste Master video - which is a bulging collection of every single wine I have tried at every single vineyard I have ever visited. And that's a lot.
"The role of Taste Master would definitely involve moving to Australia for six months, at least, but when the role is finished I may stay. I love Australia so who knows?"
She opened a bottle of Vasse Felix 2008 Cabernet Merlot to celebrate making it into the 25 finalists.
Launched by Tourism Australia as part of an international campaign to promote Australia's working holiday program, The Taste Master job has caught the attention of more than 90,000 people from around the world.
