A SHOW with delicious smells will entertain anyone who has ever loved baking goods or eating them at the Margaret River Cultural Centre next week.
Inspired by an ancient Middle Eastern fable, Scent Tales tells the bittersweet story of a baker and her sister and uses many creative elements on stage.
While an eccentric and hilarious narrator weaves a tale about one sister's deep-seated jealousy and an incredible accusation, the award-winning show presents puppetry, poetry and the real aroma of baking bread wafting through the theatre.
Audiences will be enchanted by a tale of memory, sensory intrigue and a recipe for Love Bread which brings the baker to her senses.
Arts Margaret River is also promoting the show with a community Cupcake Competition.
Winning entries will feature in the show.
People of all ages are encouraged to make a cupcake from any materials, edible or not, and enter them in the competition before the show on Tuesday night.
Entry forms are available from the Cultural Centre and people must drop off their cupcakes before 4pm on Tuesday. There are three age categories to enter: children, teens and adults.
For information on the competition contact event co-ordinator Margot Edwards, on 0420 940123.
Scent Tales kicks off at 7pm that night, tickets available from Arts Margaret River at $35 adults, $28 Arts Hub members, $30 groups of more than eight, and $15 youth.
