Wild weather didn't stop round one of the 2013/14 Nutri-Grain Ironman Series going ahead at Smith's Beach in Yallingup on Saturday.
Race times were changed to allow officials to re-design the racing arena and ensure the safety of competitors, but the large surf and high winds provided an entertaining race for the hundreds of spectators.
Shannon Eckstein won for the men ahead of Ky Hurst and Kendrick Louis, while Courtney Hancock won the women's race ahead of Kristyl Smith and Elizabeth Pluimers.
