CAMPING in the region's car parks is illegal, and offenders will be issued with warnings and asked to move, according to the Augusta Margaret River Shire.
Shire ranger co-ordinator Carol Wilson has said rangers are conducting patrols throughout various times of the day, and anyone caught camping illegally will be issued with a warning and will have their names and number plates recorded by the Shire.
"Anyone caught following a warning will be infringed," Ms Wilson said, bluntly.
"Rangers are focusing on education and awareness and are handing out new multi lingual brochures, which are also available from brochure racks at illegal camping hotspots and through the visitors centre," she said.
"Members of the public who see instances of illegal camping are encouraged to phone through details of the offender vehicle including description and number to Rangers on 0419 902 540."
