RELIEF from the heat is in sight this week following a weekend of hot weather in Margaret River.
Locals and holiday makers stayed in-doors or headed to the beach to keep cool as the thermometer reached a high of 36.5 degrees on Saturday and 37 degrees on Sunday.
Sunday night was also a warm one with the temperature only dropping to 18.5 degrees.
But relief is in sight this week with a maximum of 26 degrees predicted for today, 25 degrees tomorrow and 28 degrees on Friday, before another warm weekend, with temperatures expected to reach 34 degrees on Saturday and 33 degrees on Sunday.
Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Luke Huntington said the weekend’s hot weather was caused by a hot air mass in the Pilbarra which was dragged south over the weekend.
An early seabreeze on Sunday caused the temperature to heat up quickly, he said.
We can expect a cooler week, but there will be a weak cold front on Wednesday which could create a chance of light showers in the evening.
