IT is with shock and sadness I note Margaret River's little "cathedral of trees" which lined the road between Bramley Brook and Osmington Road has completely gone.
It was such a beautiful way of arriving or leaving the town, and was quintessentially Margaret River a gateway to a relaxing holiday for many, a happy return home for others.
Those trees and their peaceful, other-worldly ambiance are surely going to be missed.
I just hope the road works which replace them really do save the lives they are intended to save, though I can't help thinking lower speed limits and a bit of patience might have achieved the same ends.
