TWO Margaret River properties were struck by arrows on Friday, February 14, according to police reports.
Margaret River Police said the first arrow was fired at a home in Poplar Ave at 10.55pm. The second arrow was aimed at a caravan in Elder Way sometime between 8pm Friday and 3pm the next day.
Margaret River Police Sergeant Brett Cassidy was thankful nobody had been hurt, especially as someone was home in the first case.
"The person heard a loud noise and noticed the arrow laying by the dining room window," he said.
"The witness saw a male get into a car and drive away."
The culprit was described as a large Caucasian man driving a white tray-back ute. The ute's make and model is unknown.
"Someone has been shooting arrows into houses and caravans," Sgt Cassidy said.
"It's obviously a concern to us. If someone gets killed they could look at manslaughter or murder. We're treating it as very serious."
The large green-and-black arrows are not believed to be made for hunting but rather for recreational activities such as archery, as they are not particularly sharp. However, police are still investigating where they might have come from.
"[They] possibly [have] been stolen," Sgt Cassidy said.
