THE Australian Medical Association of WA is sponsoring an award encouraging WA towns to become healthier.
Community groups, businesses, councils, schools and sporting groups striving to make Western Australia healthier can secure a $10,000 prize to help their cause in the annual Healthier WA Award.
The award will be presented to the project judged to have had a noticeable impact on the health and well-being of the community.
Last year's winner of the $10,000 prize was the important mental health campaign, Act-Belong-Commit, which encourages individuals to take action in respect to their own mental wellbeing and encourages organisations that provide mentally healthy activities to promote community participation.
Nominations for the AMA (WA) and Healthway Healthier WA Award are now open until the9th May, and the winner will be announced at the annual AMA (WA) Gala Dinner on the 7th June.
