ARTS Margaret River’s first children’s show for the year was a sold-out success as Mr McGee and the Biting Flea had the audience transfixed.
Presented by Patch Theatre Company on Wednesday, the performance featured six whimsical stories by award-winning children’s writer, Pamela Allen.
Arts Margaret River marketing manager Stephanie Kreutzer said the morning show completely sold out and the 3pm show had more than 230 people attend.
“It was the perfect entertainment for the school holidays,” Ms Kreutzer said.
“It was lovely to see all the little kids so excited. One little boy even persuaded his mother to take him to the 3pm show as well, he enjoyed it that much.
“It’s great to see well-known story books, that I’ve read to my kids, come to life on stage.”
With puppets and objects emerging from dozens of suitcases and crates, Mr McGee and the Biting Flea followed three curious warehouse workers as they transformed a storeroom into little miracles of music.
Hot on the heels of Mr McGee, Arts Margaret River will feature another live children’s show, Tashi, on Saturday, May 3 at 10.30am and 1pm.
Presented by Imaginary Theatre, two of Anna and Barbara Fienberg’s Tashi adventure stories will be told.
Tickets are available through Arts Margaret River and include family prices.
