POULTRY enthusiasts travelled from as far as Mundaring, Bullsbrook and York to attend the AMR 2 Oceans Poultry Club Inc’s fifth annual Open Bird Show on May 19.
Club president Les Oxley hosted the event at the Gloucester Park showground, Margaret River, with 258 varieties of birds on show by 29 exhibitors.
Janelle Beveridge of Nannup won the $200 prize for the Best Bird of the Show with her Pit Game Bantam Hen.
Perpetual trophies were honoured in most sections, with rosettes, ribbons, and trophy donor awards, and each winner received a bag of top quality grain donated by Laucke & Mills.
The organisers thank Shane McNamara of York, and all who participated.
There is already talk of the poultry event for this year’s Margaret River and Districts Agricultural Show on October 19 and 20, and the club members hope to see plenty of poultry fans there.
