A MEDIA release on the new shire Holiday Houses policy will be released by the Augusta-Margaret River Shire Council, it was agreed at last week’s ordinary meeting.
Cr Lyn Serventy said the report was very thorough and the requirements in the area had been clearly outlined. Cr Jenny McGregor said there has been concern in the community that it is going to be harder to follow the policy.
“I’m pleased to see there is going to be a media release,” she said. “This will hopefully stop so-called backyard business.” Cr John Bell supported the motion with an anecdote of 20 people staying in one house.
“They would’ve been head-to-toe,” he said.
