BRUMBY’S Bakery Margaret River opened a new café section on Friday, bringing more space and treats to the business.
Owners Sian and Daniel Hockridge said they wanted to allow customers to sit down to enjoy their food.
“We’ll do the same thing as we did before – just that now you can sit down,” Daniel said.
The cafe is called Brumby’s GO! and sells coffee and milkshakes as well as breakfast items such as toast with jam, and toasted sandwiches.
Entering from the main street and Coles car park, customers can relax at tables and on comfy armchairs, as well as enjoy a view out the window at the “bar area”, Sian said.
Staff member Sharon Best said she had come from Perth to work for Brumby’s Margaret River especially for the new opportunity.
“I wanted to be part of the Brumby’s GO! It’s fantastic,” she said.
The bakery closed Wednesday and Thursday so electrical and plumbing work could be completed before Friday’s 6.30am opening.
“We didn’t want to close for too long,” Daniel said, explaining they wanted to consider people who rely on Brumby’s products.
The full Brumby’s team worked on Friday “just to make it smooth,” he said.
