SCHOOL holiday fun will coincide with Cowaramup’s Mooving In Day – the launch of their fibreglass cow project.
The Cowaramup Lions Club and the Cowaramup Retailers Association are staging the event on Sunday.
The launch will showcase Cowaramup or “Cow Town” with the installation of 30 fibreglass life‐sized cows which will permanently ‘graze’ at various locations along Bussell Hwy in Cowaramup.
Fun activities are planned throughout July, with the main event on Sunday, 10-3pm.
Most festivities will be held at Cowaramup Hall but several will be at local businesses.
Activities will include cheesemaking and fine art painting demonstrations, live music, wood carving, beefy snacks and drinks such as ‘cow shakes’, and a children’s adventure area with baby animal petting, as well as face painting, dress‐ups and colouring‐in competitions.
Organisers are also holding heats of A Minute to Win It, where participants try to build the tallest tower out of milk cartons.
There may also be Cow Pat Lotto and boot throwing competitions.
Local organisations and businesses will hold ‘cow’ related stalls in the hall promoting Cowaramup and their individual businesses.
Leading up to the Mooving In Day event is a ‘Cow’ Rally where locals and visitors can answer a list of rally quiz questions by visiting different venues to find clues.
Entry forms are available at www.cowaramup.com.au
The Rally started on July 1 and all entries must be in by July 31 to be eligible for a $1000 prize.
All Cowaramup post boxes will receive Mooving In Day programs and have a chance to win $100 cash if they fill out the entry coupon attached to the flyer and drop it off at Cowaramup Hall on the day.
Many business owners have donated competition prizes.
