FORMER Eagles football player Dean Kemp dropped in to Margaret River Montessori Primary School recently to talk to the students and hand out footballs and posters promoting the Dean Kemp Football Academy.
Dean talked about growing up in Kalgoorlie, his early footy experiences, and moving to Perth to play for Subiaco and the Eagles.
His career highlights include grand finals, the Norm Smith Medal in 1994, being captain of West Coast Eagles, and AFL Hall of Fame Inductee.
Dean ran the Margaret River Mitre 10 store for a time and his two sons now play junior football.
At Montessori, he told the students his nickname was “Tommy”, “because I put tomato sauce on everything”.
The academy offers a two-day clinic at Hay Park, Bunbury on July 18 and 19.
