Raiders captain Terry Campese has backed assistant coach Matt Parish to remain in the NRL after he was granted an immediate release to return to Sydney for family reasons.
Parish was contracted with the Raiders until the end of 2016, but will part ways after Monday night's match with the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Canberra Stadium.
The Raiders have begun a search for his replacement, with axed Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Griffin reportedly in the mix.
The Raiders also confirmed transition coach Brett Kimmorley would leave the club at the end of the season.
Parish was not at Raiders training at the club's Bruce headquarters on Wednesday. He is expected to join up with the team on Monday.
Parish was in his first year at the Raiders as an assistant coach. He was also part of the coaching staff of the successful NSW Blues State of Origin team and was in charge of the Samoan national team at last year's rugby league World Cup.
Campese said Parish had formed a close bond with the players during his brief time at the club and he had no doubt this would not be the end of Parish's coaching career.
''One hundred per cent [he will get another job in the NRL],'' Campese said.
''He helped out with the NSW squad, he had a big part with that, so he's definitely got some great qualities. Hopefully he gets picked up by a Sydney club so he doesn't have to move too far from his family. He's been outstanding, has some great ideas and has done a great job.''
Parish joined the Raiders after he was an assistant to new coach Ricky Stuart at the Eels last year along with Dean Pay, who is now also on the Raiders' coaching staff.
The Raiders have started an immediate search for Parish's replacement.
Griffin is understood to be in the mix after he was told earlier this week he would not be required at the Broncos to make way for the return of Wayne Bennett.
The Raiders approached Griffin to be an assistant coach in 2009 when he was in charge of the Broncos' National Youth Competition (under-20s) team.
Asked about the possibility of Griffin joining the Raiders, Campese said: ''I'm sure whichever direction the club goes in will be the right decision for the squad and for the coaching staff.''
In a statement, Raiders chief executive Don Furner said Parish had put his family first when he asked to be released from his contract.
''Matt sought an early release from the final year of his contract for family reasons and the Raiders were sympathetic to that request,'' Furner said.
''Matt has been a fantastic asset for us this season and we wish him all the best for his future in the game.''
Parish could not be contacted for comment on Wednesday.
Kimmorley joined the Raiders as an assistant coach at the end of 2012. His role this year was changed to a transition coach where he was based in Sydney, working with players in the club's NSW Cup feeder team Mounties. He has been linked to coaching jobs at Cronulla and St George Illawarra.
