THE police air wing and dog squad were called to Dawesville on Saturday afternoon following reports of an armed man roaming the streets.
Local residents called police after spotting the man, who was armed with a machete and a knife, just after 4pm on Ocean Road near Dandaragan Drive.
A search involving the police helicopter and dog squad resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man.
The man was taken into custody and investigations are continuing.
