THE cattle rustling continues in Cowaramup - this time a fibreglass calf was stolen overnight from outside Cowaramup Agencies.
But the thieving varmints had better be warned: this time there is CCTV footage.
Cowaramup Agencies owner Neil Earl, who had paid for the calf to be built and installed outside his business on Bussell Highway, said police were examining clear pictures of the thieves and were treating the incident seriously.
Mr Earl appealed for the culprits to return the sculpture, perhaps with $1000 conscience money attached for repairs.
"The leg has been snapped off so it's going to cost almost as much to get it repaired as it will to get a new one," he said.
"Each one costs about $2000 so if we don't get the calf back it looks like I'll have to pay for it out of my own pocket."
This is the fourth time one of Cowaramup's now famous 38 community-owned cows has been taken from the town.
Mr Earl said the community had very few options but to rely on the integrity of "99 per cent of people" who loved and respected the town's key attractions.
