THE Rotary Club of Margaret River has announced their annual Fun Run will be taking place on November 30.
The Fun Run looked in dire conditions earlier this year as no members were able to run the event and serious funding was lacking.
Upon hearing this, the Augusta Margaret River Shire stepped in as the major sponsors of the 2014 event. Read the shire's official statement here.
Rotary Club president Terry Hutchings said the club was keen to get primary and secondary schools involved decked out in their colours and anyone who is interested he invites to participate.
“The Fun Run has been around for 18 years and we are keen as a club to keep it going,” he said.
The Run will follow a similar route to previous years, which has started at Gloucester Park and finished at Rivermouth Beach in Prevelly. See route map here.
The Rotary Club has enlisted the help of EDM Sports Performance and Neil Fox to manage the event, both who have recently organised various athletic events in the south west.
“We now have professional people involved in running this fantastic event,” said Mr Hutchings.
The whole community is now getting on board with the Recreation Centre offering training up to the event.
