International opera and concert star Bryn Terfel will make an encore appearance at the 2015 Leeuwin Concert, 16 years after he first performed at the famed vineyard event.
The announcement signals a return to the concert's classical origins - Welshman Terfel will be joined on stage by New York-based Australian soprano Rachelle Durkin and the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
The bass-baritone last performed at Leeuwin's 1999 concert with Yvonne Kenny.
Announcing the billing for March 7 next year, Leeuwin Estate joint chief executive Simone Furlong said the performance would feature the classics of popular opera and stage musicals.
Ms Furlong said critics had described Terfel as "a voice of the century."
"Bryn Terfel's remarkable voice and characteristic stage presence have made him one of music's hottest properties and earned him outstanding international acclaim," Ms Furlong said.
"His ability to captivate and move his audience has left opera and concert promoters around the world clamouring to sign him."
In a statement, Terfel said he was thrilled to be going back to Leeuwin Estate for the March concert.
"I can't believe it's already 16 years since my last visit!" Terfel said.
" The setting, the wine, the food and of course the music are all fresh in my mind - not to mention the wonderful hospitality and audience at Leeuwin. It promises to be the most fantastic evening. I can't wait!"
Terfel will squeeze in the Margaret River performance just ahead of a two-week London season playing opposite Academy-award winner Emma Thompson in Sondheim's musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Australian operatic prodigy and concert artist Rachelle Durkin has performed at major houses worldwide to critical acclaim. She also played Tytania in Baz Luhrmann's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Durkin joined The Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2001, making her debut as the First Handmaiden in Sly with Placido Domingo. She remains a principal artist with the company.
Perth Symphony Orchestra debuted at Leeuwin with Marina Prior and David Hobson in 2012, returning to perform the 30th anniversary Leeuwin Concert with Diana Krall.
The event will incorporate the Leeuwin Marquee event and traditional post performance arena party.
Bernard Fanning has previously been announced as the 2015 Leeuwin Australia Day long weekend Family Concert on Saturday January 24.
