A TWO and a half hour high-speed police chase through the northern suburbs of Perth to as far north as Dandaragan has resulted in a man being charged with 30 offences on Wednesday afternoon.
It was reported the man was supposed to attend court on Wednesday to face several charges including burglary, dangerous driving and pursuit charges but was allegedly spotted speeding in Gnangara about 1pm.
A bench warrant was issued when he failed to show up to court.
The man evaded police and reached speeds of up to 160km/h in a black ute along Wanneroo Highway heading towards Lancelin.
Moora Police were alerted that the vehicle was headed towards Dandaragan on Wednesday afternoon, but local officers said they were told it was still about 25 minutes away and that they were unlikely to be of use in the chase.
The vehicle travelled north to Dandaragan then Cataby before heading back towards Perth. A stinger tyre deflation device was deployed and stopped the vehicle with the driver fleeing on foot.
The driver was eventually apprehended after pulling off the side of the road and running through bushland off the Brand Highway near Gingin.
A 23 year old man of no fixed address will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, charged with 30 offences ranging from aggravated burglary to reckless driving to possession of methylamphetamines.
