A 23-year-old man has been charged with a 30 offences after leading police in a high-speed chase through the northern suburbs of Perth to Dandaragan in the Wheatbelt on Wednesday.
Officers from the West Metropolitan District Crime Team spotted an allegedly stolen Ford Falcon utility with Queensland plates, on Sydney Road in Gnangara.
Police tried to stop the driver around 1pm near Gnangara but it is alleged he failed to pull over and tried to evade officers. The Ford Falcon headed north to Dandaragan, then Cataby, before heading back towards Perth, where it was stopped by a stringer tyre deflation device.
The driver fled on foot and was nabbed by police in nearby bushland.
The 23-year-old, of no fixed address, was charged with four aggravated burglaries in Balga and Osborne Park, three burglary offences in Osborne Park, one breach of a violence restraining order, five stealing offences and attempting to steal a vehicle in Balga.
Further charges include three counts of vehicle theft, reckless driving, possessing methylamphetamine, two counts of tresspassing, failing to stop, four counts of damages and four counts of driving without a licence.
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on October 2.
