IT was a display of dominance that saw the Bunbury Bulldogs hoist the colts premiership flag on Sunday.
The match was touted to be an even affair but Bunbury had other plans as they put up four quarters of good football to beat Busselton 8.5.53 to 1.11.17.
Bunbury came out of the blocks early with Tyler Bennell kicking a quick goal.
Busselton’s midfield was trying hard in the testing conditions but the Bunbury defence was strict for the entire match.
Nothing came easy as the Bulldogs defended well and then rebounded with precision movement.
Another goal to Bunbury through the boot of Aidan Clarke would see them lead by 10 points at the first change.
Busselton tried hard to find momentum in the second quarter through Jarrad Adamson and Fraser Hoskins but the rain and wind were proving to be too much for the Magpies.
Jye Graham was playing well for Bunbury while Eugene Hart was a force wherever he played.
The ball bounced off both backlines for some time in the second with Bunbury only increasing their margin by two points before half time.
Bunbury put on a commanding display in the third quarter booting three goals to zero to set up the win, all of which went to Hart.
Robert Hislop, Dylan Partridge and Brandon Wallam were also finding plenty of football for the Bulldogs.
Reece Towers and Luke Hutchins were giving efforts for Busselton but it wasn’t enough to find them any kind of continuity.
Bunbury went into the final change leading by 27 points.
The Bulldogs were in total control by the fourth quarter and booted two extras in the last to finish the game big margin winners.
Hart was awarded best on ground for his efforts all over the field.
