ORGANISERS of the annual Margaret River & Districts Agricultural Show have congratulated the community on its outstanding support displayed across the weekend.
Held on Friday and Saturday, October 17 and 18, the event was buzzing with stalls, rides, sideshows and shed exhibitions at Gloucester Park, Margaret River.
Show president Kylie Kennaugh put it down as the most enjoyable show in the 15 years since she has been involved.
“This year everyone has gone above and beyond with assistance, entries and attendance,” Ms Kennaugh said.
“Shed entries were up and it was encouraging to see so many first time entries.”
Ms Kennaugh thanked parents for their tricky efforts in entering their children’s artwork, Lego and vegetable animals, and the unpaid volunteers that make up the very small show committee, but most of all she wanted to recognise the local youth who appeared well behaved on the show’s opening night.
“We have had some rough ones in the past but over the last few years it has been on the improve and this year it was outstanding,” she said.
“To all of our youth that came along – thank you.
“Your parents can be so very proud of your mature behaviour, it was an absolute pleasure to wander down sideshow alley with no drunken antics on the grounds.”
