AUSTRALIAN songstress Natalie Imbruglia has visited the Margaret River region as a guest of Tourism WA for the past week.
Ms Imbruglia spent her vacation time visiting local wineries, whale watching and was even lucky enough to go rock climbing with some of Margaret River’s adventure locals.
“On the morning when we met at Smith Beach Resort she was excited and apprehensive,” Margaret River Climbing Co Owner Mick Dempsey said.
Mr Dempsey went on to say that she loved every minute there after, from the four wheel driving experience through to the moderately difficult climb of a sea cliff face at Wilyabrups northern end.
Mr Dempsey said that on the way back from Wilyabrup the car was bogged down in a surprise puddle with no phone reception.
Mr Dempsey had to leave Ms Imbruglia to make a call to get the car towed two kilometres away and on his return he found her sitting on the roof of the vehicle editing photos, taking it all in her stride.
“We all had a good laugh about it with a red face…but hey, how often would she get to do this kind of stuff. Was a bit like a scene from Crocodile Dundee.” he said.
