A man is recovering at Royal Perth Hospital after being dragged along a road in Belmont by a black four-wheel drive on Friday morning.
Police were called to Gregory Street at 10:20am, after being alerted to a car accident involving a pedestrian.
But officers on the scene discovered the incident involved a man, who police believe attempted to stop tools being stolen from a work vehicle.
Police said: "The offender retreated back to a black four-wheel drive and was confronted by the victim. It is believed the victim was dragged along the road before falling to the ground."
The victim is in a stable condition.
