MAIN Roads has received the green light from the Department of Environmental Regulation to go ahead with clearing native vegetation for stage one of the Margaret River perimeter road project.
The vegetation clearing, near Darch and Rosa Brook roads, has already begun in preparation for the construction phase, which is expected to begin early next month.
Main Roads spokesperson Dean Roberts said general clearing was limited to 1.5 hectares and a zoologist would be on site to monitor any fauna move ments.
Mr Roberts has urged motor ists to be mindful of the changed traffic conditions.
