MARGARET River's Outloud Dance Academy is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a special way.
Current and previous students, parents and dance enthusiasts together with the entire community are invited to celebrations on December 6.
There will be acrobatic performances, involving dynamic silk and trapeze exhibitions, the chance to meet the teachers and in particular, meet academy founder Lara Lee.
"I think the achievement is quite huge for me to have come from the city 20 years ago and have the school still going," Ms Lee said.
"We have our own studio off Station Road. The space has been an absolute huge step forward,
"The studio has such a family orientation it has got that Margaret River feel."
The academy taught all dance genres, appealing to students' love of trying new things and being part of the sporting nature of the Margaret River community.
"We still have students who began at the academy 15 yeas ago," Ms Lee said.
"It's a dedication, a loyalty - we have so many loyal parents and students.
"They've always cared and loved being here."
Many students have gone on to pursue lives and careers based around dance with their passion continuing long after they left the studio.
"The Miss Lara title has held on for 20 years too," Ms Lee said with a laugh.
The Outloud Dance Academy will open 11am-2pm at 25 Station Road on December 6 for those who wish to join the festivities.
