CHEERS and applause rang out from both staff and customers as Western Australia's first 24 hours Kmart opened its door for the very first time in Eaton on Wednesday morning.
The store's opening marks the unveiling of the newly renovated Eaton Fair Shopping Centre - a Citygate Properties project worth $100 million.
The Kmart opening was joined by Coles with a number of new stores set to open in the coming months.
There are also more than 650 extra parking bays to accommodate the anticipated flood of shoppers.
December will see the upper level residential appartments finished with an official opening for the centre planned for early next year.
