CHRISTMAS is almost upon us and with this in mind Australia Post has extended post office opening hours and weekend parcel deliveries for the predicted influx.
Selected Post Offices across the country will later on this month will have Saturday and weekend parcel deliveries.
Christmas will be made easier through more post offices having the extended hours than ever before Australia Post Managing Director and Group CEO Ahmed Fahour said.
“At this time of year, we urge everyone to get in early with their Christmas shopping and sending their Christmas greetings," Mr Fahour said.
“Whether it’s through our far-reaching Post Office network or online, we’re making it easier for our customers to connect with one-another this Christmas.”
Australia Post has also released this year’s Christmas stamp, featuring the nativity scene and other Christmas emblems.
"Australians enjoy sending and receiving their Christmas greetings through the post, it's a more personal and real experience," Mr Fahour said.
"Even in this digital age, sending a card is still a strong Christmas tradition,
"As usual, card-only stamps in Australia will be five cents cheaper through the Christmas period, just remember to write 'card only' on the envelope."
The children aren’t forgotten at this special time of year, with Australia Post reassuring the community that they will be making important trips to the North Pole to deliver their letters to Santa.
“Children can write to Santa at North Pole, 9999 and everyone will receive a letter
back,” Mr Fahour said.
