Three City of Perth contractors face up to three years' jail and $60,000 in fines, after being charged with unlawfully disclosing restricted information related to a Corruption and Crime Commission investigation.
The CCC said it had charged the three in relation to an undisclosed private investigation after they allegedly shared information following interviews.
A 51-year-old office partitioning contractor faces four counts of disclosing a restricted matter in relation to his appearance before the CCC in March this year.
A 55-year-old plumbing contractor faces three similar counts in relation to his own appearance before the commission, also in March, as part of the same investigation.
The CCC alleges the men separately disclosed restricted information about what they had been asked by the commission to other people under investigation.
This was despite being advised it was an offence to reveal any information about the private examinations.
A 44-year-old man employed by another City of Perth contractor faces three similar counts relating to a May appearance before the commission as part of the same investigation.
The CCC alleges he disclosed information to his employer about the summons he received to appear before the commission and what was later discussed at the private examination, despite being warned it was an offence.
All three are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on December 10.
