A CENTURY by Singleton Irwinians' batsman Bryce Evans was not enough to get them over the line against South Mandurah at Stan Twight West Turf.
Evans cracked 11 fours on his way to 117, the third century of the season so far.
South Mandurah won the toss and batted first, finishing with 9/204 from their 50 overs.
Brad Holmes top-scored with 77 and Michael Holmes made 48 for South Mandurah.
Michael Needs was the pick of the bowlers for Singleton, taking four wickets for eight runs from his four overs.
Despite the 117 from Evans, Singleton fell four runs short at 6/200 with Brad Holmes bowling tightly taking 2/31 from his 10 overs.
Shoalwater Bay moved to the top of the ladder following a strong win over Warnbro at Stan Twight East Turf.
Bradley Ranford led the side with 84 at the top of the order which included 13 boundaries.
Jesper Kempers and Nicholas Horman took three wickets each for Warnbro.
Warnbro managed 8/162 from their 50 overs with opening bowler Grant Coles taking 2/16 from seven overs and Daniel Abel chimed in with three victims for Shoalwater Bay.
Wicket-keeper Kane Standing made 37 not out for Warnbro to be the best of the batsmen.
At Meadow Springs Turf, Paul Okey led Mandurah to a much-needed win over White Knights Baldivis.
Okey scored 64 at the top of the order for Mandurah to lead them to 9/214 from their 50 overs.
In reply, Baldivis failed to bat out their 50 overs and were all-out for 192 from 47 overs.
Number eight Roy Crouch top-scored for Baldivis with 50, but it was not enough to win.
None of the top five batsmen were in the top-three scorers with number six, seven and eight making 124 of the runs.
Jamie Edwards took three wickets for Mandurah and Matthew Jenkinson and Luke Gibbons took two each.
Jenkinson now sits fourth on the leading wicket-takers table with 19 wickets at 11.47.
Pinjarra opener Jamie Lee helped guide his side to victory over Halls Head in Pinjarra.
Halls Head won the toss and elected to send Pinjarra into bat with Lee on fire from the start, falling four runs short of a century.
Lee was well supported by fellow opener Ryan Pack (51) and Chris Zadow (48) with Pinjarra reaching 8/252 from their 50 overs.
Jacob Hodson was the pick of the Halls Head bowlers with 3/50 from his 10 overs.
In reply the opening five batsmen all got starts but weren’t able to go on with it with Leigh Burns the highest with 27.
The side was eventually dismissed for 118 in the 33rd over.
Rob McLean, playing his second game for Pinjarra, picked up 4/20 from his 10 overs.
Competition leading wicket-taker Joseph Slade was also good with the ball picking up 3/8 from 4.2 overs.
He now has 25 wickets for the season from his 10 games.
Hillman recorded their third win of the season against Waroona away from home.
Hillman elected to bat first with opener Christopher Thomson getting the innings off to a good start with a well-made 39.
Mitchell Shellam chipped in with 27 as his side went on to be all-out for 177 in the 49th over.
Jefferson Escott picked up 3/30 from his 10 overs for Waroona.
In reply, Nic Rep (19) and Ben Wright (18) got the run chase rolling for Waroona but wickets fell rapidly with six ducks recorded.
John Mason (19) and James Jovanovich (30 not out) added some respect but it was not enough with Waroona dismissed for 106 in the 30th over.
Troy Lovegrove was the pick of the bowlers was Hillman with 4/19 off 10 overs.
The sides will now take a break over Christmas with competition resuming on January 10 with Warnbro taking on Halls Head, Shoalwater face Mandurah, Baldivis take on Singleton Irwinians, South Mandurah play Hillman and Waroona come up against Pinjarra.
