A total fire ban is in place in the Midwest Gascoyne area, while severe fire danger advices have been issued for other WA regions.
People in the greater Geraldton, Chapman Valley and Northampton area have been informed that any activity that could start a fire is banned.
This includes a ban on lighting or using fires in the open air; cooking or camping fires; hot work such as metalwork, grinding, welding soldering, gas cutting or similar activities; and any activities that may start a fire.
Severe fire danger advices are in place in coastal parts of the Central West, coastal and inland parts of the Gascoyne, and coastal and inland parts of the Pilbara.
People in these areas are advised to that bushfires can threaten suddenly and without warning, and they should stay alert and watch for signs of fire, especially smoke and flames, and have their bushfire survival plans and kits ready.
