A MANDURAH mother and daughter are taking on the beauty pageant world in this year’s Miss Galaxy competition.
Annette and Shantelle Bezant are competing in the Mrs and Miss categories, respectively.
This is the third time Ms Bezant has taken part in the competition but has enjoyed guiding her mother through the process.
“Mum’s always been the pageant mum and now it’s my turn to be the pageant daughter,” she said.
“It’s really awesome having mum with me on this and me and my sister have been showing her what to do.
“We actually entered her without her knowing and then when she got a letter in the mail she was like: ‘What is this?’
“She’s really excited about it now though and I don’t think she would have entered herself.”
As this is the first year Miss Galaxy has had a Mrs category, Mrs Bezant has already qualified for the national competition, however Ms Benzant will compete in the state heat on Thursday, where she will find out if she qualifies for the next level.
The state heat is at The Forrest Centre in Perth and the finals are on the Gold Coast in March.
Contestants are given marks in the photographic, interview, fashion wear, swimwear and evening gown divisions.
