She hinted that her song Bad Blood was about fellow chart-topper Katy Perry, but now Taylor Swift has refused to confirm if there is any animosity between the pair.
Speaking to the UK Telegraph, the 25-year-old singer said she was not saying any more on the subject, as she didn't want to fuel gossip websites.
"I'm not giving them anything to write about," Swift said. "I'm never going to talk about her in my interview. It's not going to happen."
Swift's silence is a far cry from the interview she gave to Rolling Stone last year, in which she said Bad Blood, a track on her current album 1989, was written about a fellow female singer.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," she said. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."
While Swift didn't name Perry specifically, it became pretty clear that she was talking about the Roar singer when Perry responded on Twitter, comparing Swift to Mean Girls villain Regina George.

Perry later told Billboard, "If somebody is trying to defame my character, you're going to hear about it."
The Examiner later reported that three of Swift's dancers had left her Red national tour to join Perry's Prism promo tour.
Despite not wanting to give any further information about the alleged feud, Swift did speak to the Telegraph about her group of celebrity BFFs, which includes Girls creator Lena Dunham and supermodel Karlie Kloss.
"The thing about my girlfriends right now is that none of them needs me for anything other than friendship," she said.
"I love the fact that they are all passionate about their jobs, whatever their jobs are. A lot of celebrity-type people have this group of people around them where their friends' main priority is them, and they feel comfortable with that dynamic. I don't feel comfortable with that dynamic."
