A sinkhole reportedly opened up in a Wembley Downs residential street on Thursday afternoon
All northbound traffic near Weaponess Road and Empire Avenue was affected and motorists were asked to avoid the area.
Main Roads advised motorists to "approach with caution".
A Water Corporation spokeswoman told Fairfax Media the size of the hole was unknown and crews were dispatched to inspect the intersection.
City of Stirling has been contacted for further comment.
